Janka Prepares for European Premier at Second Space

 

Janice Noga stars in the Oscar Speace play about survival and redemption.

 

(Fresno, CA) June 12, 2006 – Janice Noga, Fresno-based actor and singer, reprises her role at Second Space in Fresno to prepare for the European premier of Janka (yan-ka) at the 60th International Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland. The performance dates are Tuesday and Wednesday, July 18-19 and July 25-26, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Janka is a drama about one woman’s will to survive the Nazi brutality and her desire to experience the American dream.

 

Janka is produced by Oscar Speace, producer-director of Valley Press at Valley Public Television in Fresno. Speace created the one-character play based on letters his mother wrote following her liberation from Nazi concentration camps and forced labor near Munich, Germany.

Proceeds will benefit the Janka Project and Janka: One Minute of Perfect Happiness, a documentary currently in production and sponsored by The Fresno Arts Council.
